Nashville Blues

Yeah,

So my season came to and end in Nashville, TN much like it began... Not Good at all. Typically I am a lot more positive than I will be in the following paragraph or so, bear with me as there will be more positive things to come.

So in two words: Nashville Sucked! Well for me at least. I arrived on thursday so I could tune the ski in and get settled in. The ski tuned in great and bla bla bla... I did not have anything going on friday so I headed out to the local Moutain Bike Trails known as Hamilton Creek. These were some awsome trails, if you are ever in the area with your bike go there and ride both the 3 mile intermediate loop and the 7 mile advanced loop. On saturday morning I had practice for Am Ski Open, this went well. My quaifier was the second moto of the day. I headed down to the line and noticed that my ski was running like crap. There was nothing I could do about that now though. I did about 1/2 lap and pulled in so I could maybe get my skis issue figured out. Well I worked on it until 10:00 PM that night with no results. I have the thank the following for their help along the way of trying to fix the machine though: Bill Haig, Jerry Schmit, Rick Kantola, EB Sommers, Steve King, Zack Genrich, and others. Collectivly none of us could figure out why the ski would not run right, and it is still not running right. So Am Ski Open was a total wash, and nothing could be done about it. I had Expert Ski Limited the following day, and still had no ski. Thanks to Brian Drake (The Drake StAr) I was able to use his ski. I had to replace the O-Rings in the pipe on that ski so I missed practice. DrakestArs ski is good, but it is not the same as mine so I had some handling issues to get used to. I did horrible in my quailifer, then missed a the Finish Buoy in the LCQ penalizing me 2 finish positions and moving me one spot out of the main event. Basically the entire weekend was a disaster. I still have to attempt to figure out the issue with my ski, and fix it. I am pretty discurraged at this point and am deciding to throw in the towel on the World Finals.

The other positive of the trip was being able to see people I have not seen in a year and socializing with everyone including the Number 1 Fan of Watercross Nedra Atwood!

Now it is time to regroup & reload the bank account, and parts supply for the 2008 racing season. I plan on coming back better prepaired and faster than every for 2008. I also plan on adding at least one more ski to the stable as a practice / backup ski in case this ever happens again.

Stay tuned for updates on the IJSBA 2007 World Finals as at the very least I'll be talking to people on site so the racing action can be recaped!
